What's coming to Historia Medica
Historia Medica keeps growing, and much of what's next was suggested by the people who use it. A Historia Medica 1 license includes every 1.x update, so everything planned for 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 below comes free with your license.
The order and timing can change as we learn what matters most to you. To help decide, add a Me too to the features you want on the feature requests page, or suggest a new one.
Version 1.0 · November 17, 2026
The first full release: every record type from the beta, the Doctor visit summary, MyMedical import, charts for vitals and lab trends, To Do reminders, and everything kept privately on your Mac. Start with a free 30-day trial; one license covers your whole family on up to 3 Macs.
Version 1.1 · planned for winter 2026–27
- Lock the app with a password or Touch ID. Keep your records private on a shared family Mac. Feature request
- Reminders for appointments and refills. Notifications before upcoming visits and tests, and when a prescription refill is due. Feature request
- Read text from scanned and downloaded documents. Text recognition for PDFs and photos of medical paperwork, done entirely on your Mac, so their contents can be searched and reused instead of retyped. Feature request
- Charts for each doctor's specialty on the Doctor visit summary. For example blood pressure and the lipid panel for the cardiologist, or HbA1c and glucose for the endocrinologist. Feature request
Version 1.2 · planned for early 2027
- Import from Apple Health. Readings from your iPhone and Apple Watch, activity and workouts from fitness apps, and the immunization and health records your hospital shares with the Health app. Feature request
- Import from the iHealth app. Blood pressure, weight and body fat, temperature and blood oxygen from iHealth devices, from the CSV reports the app exports. Feature request
- Medical bills. Add a bill and Historia Medica reads the date, provider and reason for the visit. Optionally keep track of what was billed, what insurance paid and what you owe. Feature request
Version 1.3 · planned for spring 2027
- Cycle and hormone tracking. Period days, flow and symptoms, the current cycle phase, and a view for perimenopause and menopause. Feature request
Further ahead
- iPhone companion app with private sync. Carry your family's records to appointments on your iPhone, synced directly with your Mac over Bluetooth or your home Wi-Fi, never through a cloud server. Feature request
- Historia Medica for Windows. The same app and the same privacy, for families with Windows PCs. Feature request
These are larger projects and will come after the 1.x updates. Whether they are included in a 1.x license or offered separately will be announced before they're released.
Always
Whatever we add, Historia Medica stays the same where it matters: no account, no cloud, no tracking. Your family's records stay on your devices, in a file you control.
